JIC副会長の矢部耕三氏は，東京では弁護士業を行う傍ら，毎年イリノイ大学のロースクールで教えておられ，JIC奨学制度の協定締結及びその維持をする上では欠かせない存在です．イリノイ大学で教え始めて16年，これがYomiuri Online/ChuoOnlineの記事 "米国の法科大学院で教えて ―海を超え，「二足の草鞋」の１６年" となって掲載されました．

2017年でJIC奨学制度（小山八郎記念奨学制度）が42年目を迎えますが，この期間の約4割を同窓会とイリノイ大学の架け橋としてご活躍されているのが矢部耕三先生です．2018年度もこれまでと同様に奨学生を募集します．この奨学制度を今後も継続できるよう，今年も多くの大学生の皆さんが応募していただけることを願ってます．

JICの活動内容
イリノイ大学日本同窓会では次の活動を行っています
リユニオンパーティ
毎年6月あるいは7月に実施するレリユニオンパーティをはじめ，ご家族や友人の皆様と一緒に参加できるイベントを開催します

We hold events that you can participate in with your family and friends, including a reunion party held every June or July.
ニュースレターの発行
Japan Illini Club会員の皆様の活動の様子や最新のイリノイ大学情報等を共有するため，Newsletterを発行しています．

We publish a newsletter to share information about the activities of Japan Illini Club members and the latest news from the University of Illinois.

Information Sharing

小山八郎記念奨学制度
日本の大学に在籍する日本人の学生を，毎年４名選考し，イリノイ大学に授業料無料で送る制度です．国内の各大学でイリノイ大学との交換留学制度が充実してきたのにともない，42年目の2017年を最後に本制度は終了しました
Koyama Hachiro Memorial Scholarship Program
This program selects four Japanese students enrolled in Japanese universities each year and sends them to the University of Illinois free of tuition. As exchange programs with the University of Illinois have become more established at universities throughout Japan, this program came to an end in 2017, its 42nd year.
