訃報・Ken Gunji氏ご逝去のお知らせ

Ken Gunji 氏(郡司紀美子先生のご主人)が9月30日午前7時8分にカール財団病院でご逝去されました，享年83歳でした． つい2ヶ月前に結婚50周年を迎えたばかりで，10月には来日を予定されていたとのこと．ご冥福をお祈り申し上げます． Ken Gunji, 83, of Champaign died at 7:08 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 30, 2017) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. We would like to express our sincerest condolences to his death.

小山八郎記念奨学制度
日本の大学に在籍する日本人の学生を，毎年４名選考し，イリノイ大学に授業料無料で送る制度です．国内の各大学でイリノイ大学との交換留学制度が充実してきたのにともない，42年目の2017年を最後に本制度は終了しました
Koyama Hachiro Memorial Scholarship Program
This program selects four Japanese students enrolled in Japanese universities each year and sends them to the University of Illinois free of tuition. As exchange programs with the University of Illinois have become more established at universities throughout Japan, this program came to an end in 2017, its 42nd year.
